****Summer Horse Day Camp 2008***!

THANKS TO ALL FOR A FANTASTIC SUMMER CAMP THIS YEAR!!!HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN NEXT SUMMER!!

Along with my great Forest Grove Stables Day Camp Staff (and furry helpers), I am so pleased to offer a “one of a kind horse experience” in the Leesburg, Virginia area.

Forest Grove Stables Day Camp is a special place where young DAY campers can build their self-confidence, self-esteem, and friendships while enjoying the pleasure of riding.

LaughingCampers will be assigned one horse or pony that will be “theirs” for the entire week. Our goal is to teach them how to be a “horseman” not just a rider in the short time they are with us.  They will learn everything about horse care including grooming, parts of the horse (anatomy 101), feeding, cleaning stalls, tacking and much more! Each camper will take a riding lesson in the morning AND afternoon with an approx. time of at least 3 hours per day (they ride a variety of horses/ponies).

KissWe only accept 6 students per week. Smaller groups allow us to be more flexible with our entire program, and offer one- on-one instruction by our own Morven Park CERTIFIED instructor/trainer in Classical Dressage. Additionally, she has a Master's degree in Equine Nutrition from Cornell University, has numerous professional "horse" contacts in the local area (field trips), and has a "true" respect and love for horses. She is a fantastic role model for any child who has aspirations of becoming a "true horseman".

SurprisedAt Least One HORSE RELATED field trip will be scheduled per week with the prior approval from the Day Camper’s parents of course!!! We will visit places such as -other local horse farms, horse shows, Equine Rescue League,
Natural History Museum, and possibly Morven Park to watch a Surgical procedure.!

SmileFrom the program's start, students learn how to handle themselves around horses and how to keep themselves and their horses safe. Students learn how to catch, halter, lead, groom, saddle and bridle.

Our structured but flexible program provides excellent training by top notch instructors for those just learning to ride, while teaching the finer points of equitation and horsemanship to the experienced rider. All students learn how to handle themselves around horses and how to keep themselves and their mounts safe.

Note: Summer Camp deposits are non-refundable for any reason. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason deemed necessary.
